Cadillac’s Rear Camera Mirror has been named a 2015 Popular Science “Best of What’s New” award winner. The annual awards cover the magazine’s choices of the year’s top 100 technology innovations and appear in the December issue.
With substantial gains in its top four markets, Cadillac global sales increased 16.9 percent in October to 23,250 units. U.S. sales rose 13 percent, and the brand’s sales grew in China (23.4 percent) Canada (46.5 percent) and the Middle East (15.3 percent).
Cadillac extends the top of its range with the 2016 Cadillac Touring 6 sedan, which begins production in Detroit in January, with initial shipments to dealers in March. Cadillac announced a unique project in which its all-new luxury crossover, the XT5, will debut at venues around the world in partnership with acclaimed fashion designers Public School. At a private kickoff event, Public School announced it would debut its Pre-Fall collection on the runway in Dubai, in collaboration with the launch of the first-ever 2017 Cadillac XT5. It is also creating an XT5-inspired capsule collection for the special invited guests at the Dubai show in November.
Continued demand for the ATS product line, SRX crossover and Escalade SUV led Cadillac global sales to an increase over the first eight months of 2015. Contraction in the luxury market in China led to a 5.9 percent global sales decline in August to 22,799 units.
