IF YOU HAD TO DEFINE YOUR WORK AS AN ARTIST, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
“I’d define my artwork as life experience passed down. I go through life like most people in my community and I see it as a hard climb. I think it’s important to express and inform what goes on within communities and realize that most people have a common thread between them.”
IT SEEMS CADILLAC PLAYS A ROLE IN SOME OF YOUR ART. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST INTRODUCTION TO A CADILLAC VEHICLE?
“My first introduction to a Cadillac that I can remember was my grandfathers. He had an old Deville that he would pick me up from elementary school in. I remember every weekend he’d get a cleaning pad to clean the white walls of his tires. Between him and my father having Cadillacs it really played an important role in my art and my love for them”
HOW WOULD YOU RE-DEFINE AMERICAN LUXURY?
“It’s a Luxury to [experience] American Luxury. I would redefine American Luxury as American accessibility. To me real Luxury is living good with the ones closest to you. So, when I’m eatin’ good, I eat good with my fam and when I’m in my Cadillac I'm with my homies. We all eat. That’s my luxury.”

WE ALWAYS TALK ABOUT ICONS AT CADILLAC. TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR ICON GROWING UP.
“A lot of my icons growing up were musicians because music always set the tone for how I was feeling, and I played it while I would paint.
WE ALWAYS ASK OUR COLLABORATORS TO FILL IN THEIR “BE ICONIC”. IF YOU HAD A PROCLAMATION, ONE WORD AFTER YOUR “BE____” WHAT WOULD IT BE?
“The only thing I can be and be the best at is me. My proclamation would be the name I chose after converting to Islam meaning most merciful. I would BE Raheem. I think we could all use a little more mercy.”
