Inspired by performance—and built around you. The first-ever Cadillac CT4 is a reflection of the performance-minded and detail-obsessed designers and engineers who brought this car to life.

Exterior designers Aaron Riggs and Dillon Blanski were laser-focused in their vision for the first-ever Cadillac CT4. It should be a vehicle that immediately makes its driver feel in control and ready for anything. To deliver this feeling for every drive, they spent months perfecting CT4’s low, wide silhouette and performance-oriented road stance.

As they stood next to CT4 on set, both designers could not help pointing to the many details that accentuate its athletic look and feel and set it apart from competitors. Details like the technical graphics and headlamp and taillamp design, which complement the wide chevron grille and the long, horizontal lines of the body. This was a new approach, Riggs said: “We extended the lamps front to rear and side to side farther than we ever have before.”

Cadillac Interior Design Manager Alan Nicol was clear about his team’s vision for CT4. Once you step inside, this vehicle is all about you—and making sure nothing distracts you from enjoying every drive. Nicol’s team paid particular attention to interior details that make its driver feel at ease, in control and on-trend. Details like the available Sport model’s steering wheel wrapped with dimpled leather accents. No matter where your eye lands or where your hand touches, the result is the same. It feels good in here.

CT4 Chief Engineer Rob Kotarak believes he has one of the most exciting jobs at Cadillac—to make certain CT4 creates an engaging driver experience—during every drive. What stands out to him? The overall dynamics of the car, especially when it comes to the precision of its steering and suspension.

Kotarak says that his teams fine-tuned CT4’s precision and poise not only on numerous roads and conditions, but also on test tracks modeled after some of the most famous racetracks in the world: “The ultimate excitement comes from getting behind the wheel of the CT4. You can’t wait to grab the keys and take off to your next destination.”

You could say CT4 Lead Development Engineer Dave Schmidt has dedicated his career to one thing—details.

As a guy who builds boat powertrains from start to finish in his spare time, maybe that’s not surprising. “Details are foundational to building a great car,” Schmidt said, launching into a story of how he’d spent the last week—bunkered with his team on the CT4 factory floor, fine-tuning the driver control responses to ensure they feel precise.

Schmidt is proudest of the segment exclusive technologies CT4 can boast, one of which is the three-step sliding camshaft in the engine that responds to the way you drive—optimizing engine valve and cylinder function to give you both spirited and efficient performance. Another exclusive innovation is its available 2.7L dual-volute turbo engine, which delivers peak torque quickly and holds it through high RPMs, meaning you get consistently responsive, powerful performance. “Younger, spirited, fast-moving people should know that their new Cadillac has these innovations.”

When engineers Scott Creehan and Kay Batt had the opportunity to create a completely new drive mode for Cadillac, they jumped on it.

Together with their team, they created My Mode—a driver-configurable mode that lets you customize the performance and feel of your CT4. Steering wheel feel, sound, brake pedal feel—all are customizable.

And in the CT4-V, they went even further to develop V-Mode—another driver-configurable mode designed for performance enthusiasts. It gives spirited V-Series drivers more capability on those curvy roads with the added ability to change the chassis, engine and transmission feel. When you hit the gas, the car can feel more powerful and more responsive based on settings you control.
