Whenever warranty repairs are required, several transportation options and/or reimbursement of certain transportation expenses are available for your convenience at participating dealers or retailers. The warranty covers towing to the nearest GM dealership, and there is no deductible for warranty repairs during the warranty period. The warranty transfers automatically with vehicle ownership during the warranty period.

IS MY VEHICLE COVERED FROM RUST, TOO?

Cadillac vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Any sheet metal that rusts through, causing an actual hole in the sheet metal, is covered for up to 6 years, unlimited miles. Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is neither necessary nor required under the Sheet Metal Coverage. Cadillac makes no recommendations concerning the usefulness or value of such products. Application of after-manufacture rustproofing products may create an environment which reduces the corrosion resistance built into your vehicle. Repairs to correct damage caused by such applications are not covered under your New Vehicle Limited Warranty. See your Cadillac dealer for terms of this limited warranty.

DO I HAVE TO GO TO THE CADILLAC DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE TO HAVE WARRANTY REPAIRS PERFORMED?

SAFETY

WHAT MAKES AN AIR BAG INFLATE?

In a frontal or near-frontal impact of sufficient severity, the air bag sensing system detects that the vehicle is suddenly stopping as a result of a crash. The sensing system triggers a release of inflation gas. This gas inflates the air bag. The inflator, air bag, and related hardware are all part of the air bag module packed inside the steering wheel for the driver air bag and in the instrument panel for the right front passenger air bag.

WHEN SHOULD AN AIR BAG INFLATE?

The air bag is designed to inflate in moderate to severe frontal or near-frontal crashes. The air bag will inflate only if the impact speed is above the system's designed "threshold level." If your vehicle goes straight into a wall that doesn't move or deform, the threshold level is about 14 to 18 mph (23 to 29 km/h). The threshold level can vary, however, with specific vehicle design, so that it can be somewhat above or below this range. If your vehicle strikes something that will move or deform, such as a parked car, the threshold level will be higher. Inflation is determined by the angle of the impact and the vehicle's deceleration.

WILL A SIDE OR REAR IMPACT OR ROLLOVER CAUSE THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY?

If the vehicle is equipped with seat mounted side impact or roof rail mounted head curtain air bags, those will deploy in a side impact. If the vehicle is equipped with a roll over capable head curtain air bags, a roll over sensor will deploy the head curtain air bags in a roll over incident. The frontal air bags will not deploy in a side impact or roll over, unless there is also a front or front-corner impact of sufficient severity to trigger the frontal airbags. The airbags will not deploy in a rear impact.

IS IT STILL NECESSARY TO WEAR A SAFETY BELT WITH THE SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT SYSTEM?

Yes! The air bag supplements the protection provided by the shoulder belts. Remember, the air bag is designed to inflate in moderate-to-severe frontal and near-frontal crashes. Safety belts can provide protection in impacts other than frontal and near-frontal collisions.

WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION ABOUT AIR BAGS/SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINTS ON CADILLAC VEHICLES?

To learn about the specific items on your vehicle, please refer to Section 1 in your Cadillac Owner's Manual, "Seats and Restraint Systems."

WHAT KIND OF CHILD-SAFETY SEATS SHOULD I USE IN MY CADILLAC VEHICLE?

For each type of child restraint, there are many different models available. When purchasing a child restraint, be sure it is designed to be used in a motor vehicle and is certified to comply with US Federal or Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. If it is, the child restraint will have a label saying that it meets federal motor vehicle safety standards. The NHTSA website includes a list of registered car seat manufacturers (https://www.nhtsa.gov) and links to their registration pages for consumers. Registration helps manufacturers identify purchasers for recall notices.

The instruction manual that is provided with the child restraint states the weight and height limitations for that particular child restraint.  Wherever a child restraint is installed, be sure to follow the instructions that came with the child restraint and secure the child restraint properly.

In some areas Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) are available to inspect and demonstrate how to correctly use and install child restraints. In the U.S., refer to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website to locate the nearest child safety seat inspection station. For CPST availability in Canada, check with Transport Canada or the Provincial Ministry of Transportation office.

For more information on child restraint recommendations, try Safe Kids Worldwide www.safekids.org  or www.safekids.org/ultimate-car-seat-guide, American Academy of Pediatrics www.aap.org/family/carseatguide.htm or NHTSA www.nhtsa.gov.

WHY IS TIRE PRESSURE IMPORTANT?

Improperly inflated tires are a leading cause of tire failure. Proper tire pressure helps a tire have optimum tread contact with the road, which can optimize traction and braking and minimize tire wear. Underinflated tires generate heat, so maintaining the right amount of air helps keep temperatures where they should be.

WHAT SHOULD MY TIRE PRESSURE BE?

The driving ability and performance ease of your Cadillac comes with a suite of benefits, one being the Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS).

If pressure in one or more of your tires* falls 25 percent below the vehicle manufacturer low recommended cold inflation pressure for 20 minutes, a warning indication will notify you. If the tire pressure falls below MAP (minimum air pressure), however, the warning indicator illuminates right away.

WHY SHOULD TIRES BE ROTATED, AND WHEN?

Tire rotation is imperative to help maintain a uniform wear on all four of your Cadillac’s tires. Our Certified Service experts recommend your Cadillac’s tires be rotated every 7,500 miles to help prevent irregular wear. Consult your Owner's Manual for additional information about your specific vehicle regarding tire rotation and wheel alignment.

WHERE SHOULD I GO TO GET THE RIGHT TIRES FOR MY CAR?

Most Cadillac dealerships sell brand-name tires such as Bridgestone, Firestone, Goodyear, Michelin and many more. The Certified Service technicians at your dealership can recommend the tires that are right for your vehicle and your driving habits. And, participating dealers offer a 30-day price-match guarantee, so if you find the same tires at a better price within 30 days of purchase, they’ll refund the difference. Click here for current offers and additional details.

HOW DO I CHECK MY TRANSMISSION FLUID?

Consult your Owner's Manual for information about your specific vehicle regarding transmission fluid checks and requirements.

WHEN SHOULD I CHANGE THE OIL?

When the “Change Engine Oil Soon” message appears, oil change service is necessary for the vehicle as soon as possible, or within the next 600 miles.

If driving under the best conditions, the engine Oil Life System might not indicate the need for vehicle service within a year. The motor oil and filter must be changed at least once a year and the engine Oil Life System will need to be reset. Your Cadillac dealer has Certified Service expert technicians who will perform this work and reset the system. Click here to schedule service.

WHERE CAN I FIND MY OWNER'S MANUAL?

Click here to scroll through your Owner's Manual or view helpful how-to videos to learn everything there is to know about your vehicle's features and operation.

WHAT TYPE OF OIL DO I NEED?

Choosing the proper grade of oil is a critical step in engine maintenance. Your Cadillac Certified Service experts offer a range of oil types, including ACDelco dexos1TM Full Synthetic and Mobil1TM Full Synthetic. Ask the experts which grade of oil you should use for your specific Cadillac model. You can also check your Owner's Manual for the correct grade (dexos1 oil is used with Premium Care Maintenance).

WHAT SERVICES ARE COVERED IN MY BUMPER-TO-BUMPER LIMITED WARRANTY?

Cadillac backs your new vehicle with its no deductible, Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty. The entire vehicle is warranted for repairs, including parts and labor, to correct any defects in materials or workmanship for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first (except routine maintenance). The warranty covers towing to the nearest GM dealership, and there is no deductible for warranty repairs during the warranty period. The warranty transfers automatically with vehicle ownership during the warranty period.

WILL I GET A LOANER VEHICLE WHEN MY CAR IS IN FOR SERVICE?

I INPUT MY NAME AND ADDRESS, BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT SHOWING UP. WHY?

If you purchased your vehicle through a private sale, your vehicle ownership information may not be updated in our system. You can register this vehicle by inputting your vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) into the Cadillac Owner Center. If you purchased a new or used vehicle from a dealer, it may be a few weeks before your vehicle information is updated in our system.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN THE SYSTEM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE MY VIN?

There are several reasons that we may not recognize your VIN. If your vehicle is a new purchase, it may take up to 45 days for the VIN to be input into our systems. Or, perhaps the VIN was entered incorrectly. Please follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Check to make sure you entered the correct VIN number by clicking on the Edit Vehicle Information button below.

Step 2: If your VIN was entered correctly, it means that our system has not processed your vehicle purchase yet. You will still be able to access a wide variety of Cadillac Owner Center information if you re-register by Year, Make and Model. Just do the following:

1. On the Edit Vehicle Information page, remove the vehicle you just registered
2. Click Add Vehicle. You will re-enter the vehicle registration process. Then, register by Year, Make, and Model from the bottom of the page and click “Save.”
3. Return to the edit vehicle information page and enter your VIN, then click Save and Finish. Once your vehicle is in our system, usually 45 days after purchase, information specific to your vehicle will be displayed.

If you made a typing error and your VIN is incorrect, you can re-register the vehicle with the correct VIN. Just do the following:

1. On the Edit Vehicle Information page, remove the vehicle you just registered
2. Click Add Vehicle. You will re-enter the vehicle registration process and may enter the correct VIN.

If your VIN is still not recognized, you can start a Live Chat with our experts or call 1-866-694-6546 for assistance.

If you own a vehicle that was not purchased in the United States, unfortunately we can’t recognize your vehicle at this time. Please visit your vehicle brand site for more information.

I HAVE ONSTAR® BUT I DO NOT HAVE A USERNAME/PASSWORD. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You can take one of two actions:

You can visit OnStar.com and set up an online account. Use that username and password to create a Cadillac Owner Center account. This will allow you to log in to both the Cadillac Owner Center and www.onstar.com with the same username/password.

HOW CAN I ACCESS MY VEHICLE INFORMATION IF THE CADILLAC OWNER CENTER WEBSITE IS NOT WORKING?

Your preferred dealer is either the dealer who sold you the vehicle or your selected OnStar preferred dealer. You can change your preferred dealer in the Preferred Dealer tool on the homepage.

SERVICE HISTORY & MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

WHY CAN’T I SEE MY SERVICE HISTORY RECORDS?

If you’ve had your vehicle serviced at multiple dealerships, you may only be able to see some of your records, depending on dealer participation.

I ENTERED MY SERVICE RECORDS INTO ONSTAR.COM, WHY SHOULD I USE THE CADILLAC OWNER CENTER?

Along with displaying your personally entered OnStar® service records, the Cadillac Owner Center also allows you to see dealer service history. It’s a convenient way to consolidate all of your account information, get valuable information on your vehicle and view recalls, all in one place. You can even create an account using your OnStar credentials.

WHY IS MY SIRIUSXM® ACCOUNT INFORMATION OUT OF DATE?

There may be a slight time delay between when SiriusXM account updates occur and when they are reflected on your Cadillac Owner Center account. You can always get your account status by logging in to the "Manage Account" section of www.siriusxm.com.

WARRANTY & RECALLS

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN A RECALL IS CLOSED?

It can take up to two weeks for the Cadillac Owner Center to reflect that the dealer has addressed your recall. Once the Cadillac Owner Center has been notified, the recall link will no longer appear in the homepage Recall tool for your vehicle.
