A REVISED STRATEGY LEADS TO A SECOND-PLACE FINISH
Starting eighth in the 2025 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing team took on the temporary city track with ease and a revised pit strategy that propelled them into a second-place finish on May 31, 2025. Driver Filipe Albuquerque gained three positions in the first corner of the green flag lap and drove the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R to the front as every other driver pitted for the mandatory driver change and energy replenishment with 54 minutes left in the 100-minute race. A quick swap of drivers — and timing the fuel fill to just enough to make it to the checkered flag — brought driver Ricky Taylor onto the racing surface in second. With 15 minutes remaining, Taylor pushed to the front holding the lead until being overtaken with 3:35 left.
The runner-up finish is the best of the season for Cadillac Racing’s three-car Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) contingent in the IMSA WeatherTech® SportsCar Championship and the 100th podium for Cadillac Racing in IMSA®.
