ABOUT VISION ENHANCED AUTOMATIC PARKING ASSIST

Vision Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist uses cameras and ultrasonic sensors to detect lane lines so it can help you park your vehicle. It can automatically steer, brake and shift gears to park your vehicle into a detected parallel or perpendicular parking space while you are in the driver’s seat. It can also help you unpark. You must always be prepared to override the feature and take control.

How It Works

  • Automatically steers, brakes and shifts gears for parking.
  • Detects parking spaces while moving forward at low speeds (under 18 mph).
  • Assists in parallel and perpendicular parking scenarios.
  • Allows for quick and smooth maneuvers, replicating how a person would park.

NOTE: While the system operates, you must have your seat belt buckled, remain in the driver’s seat and be prepared to take control at any time.

Compatibility

Vision Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist is available on select GM vehicles. To confirm if your vehicle includes this feature, check your vehicle’s equipment list for “Vision Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist” or contact your dealer for verification. Note that vehicles must have Surround Vision cameras to include this feature.

Important Notes & Safety Considerations

  • The system can assist in exiting parking spaces where conditions have not significantly changed since parking and there is at least one bordering vehicle.
  • While parking, the system will continue to provide park assist alerts, such as tones or Safety Alert Seat pulses.
  • Ensure sensors and cameras are clean for optimal performance.
  • Calibration may be required after initial vehicle purchase and should complete after driving at low speeds (below 40 mph) for up to one hour.
  • The system may not adapt to sudden changes in the parking space, such as movement of a nearby vehicle or a person or object entering the parking space. Always remain attentive and ready to take control.
  • Avoid relying solely on the system for parking and use your judgment to ensure safety.
