About the Spotify In-Vehicle App

The Spotify in-vehicle app lets you discover millions of songs, podcasts, audiobooks, customized playlists and listening recommendations based on your preferences.

The Spotify in-vehicle app is available to users at no additional cost. For an enhanced experience, users can sign up for a Spotify Premium subscription, which unlocks exclusive features such as improved sound quality, offline listening, and an ad-free music listening experience.

The Spotify app is now available on compatible infotainment systems^† . An eligible OnStar® plan^† is required to download apps and stream content in your vehicle.

Getting Started

To download the Spotify in-vehicle app, start by tapping the Apps^† icon or opening the Google Play Store app on your vehicle’s center display (if compatible) and select Spotify.
Launch the Spotify in-vehicle app by tapping the Spotify icon on your vehicle’s center display. To continue, accept Spotify’s Terms and Conditions.

From there, scan the QR code to sign into your Spotify account.

Screen Controls

Once you’ve opened the Spotify in-vehicle app, you’ll notice several icons at the top of the home screen.

These icons help you navigate content.

Here’s how they work:

o HOME features recommendations of playlists and content based on your listening preferences.

o RECENTS reveals recently played content on your Spotify account, across all your devices.

o LIBRARY gives you quick access to browse and play saved playlists and content.

o MINI PLAYER shows recently played content, where you can “like,” “skip,” “play,” “pause” or “shuffle.”

o BROWSE lets you explore music through a list of top charts and categories based on genre or mood.

On properly equipped vehicles, you can also control your Spotify experience with Google Assistant voice control.^† With Google Assistant, you can ask Google to play a podcast, play a song, album or artist, or play music based on a mood, all within the Spotify app.

Note: Google built-in^† requires an OnStar trial or select paid OnStar plan (if post-trial).
