The world’s first true hands-free driver assistance feature for the freeway. The Super Cruise feature is available on 2018 CT6
models produced on September 6th, 2017 and later.
Here’s what you can expect from the Super Cruise experience.
Super Cruise is available only on limited-access freeways that are separated from opposing traffic.
In order to use Super Cruise, first press the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) button on the steering wheel to turn on Adaptive Cruise Control. The symbol will illuminate in WHITE on the instrument cluster. If Adaptive Cruise Control is already set, the symbol will be GREEN with a speed shown.
When Super Cruise detects you are on a limited-access freeway, paying sufficient attention, and all other driving conditions are met (lane markings visible, GPS available, no system faults, etc.), the Super Cruise symbol will illuminate in WHITE on the instrument cluster.
When it is safe to do so, press the Super Cruise button on the steering wheel to engage Super Cruise. When the symbol and steering wheel light bar illuminate in GREEN, you may remove your hands from the steering wheel. Do not remove your hands from the steering wheel unless the light bar is green, indicating Super Cruise is steering the vehicle. To disengage Super Cruise, press the Super Cruise button again or press the brake pedal.
To ensure safety, drivers must pay attention to the road at all times. Our proprietary head tracking software helps make sure your eyes are on the road, and alerts you when you need to pay more attention or take back control.
The CT6 Super Cruise Convenience & Personalization Guide gives more detail on setting up and understanding the Super Cruise system.
Some state and local laws may require hands to be kept on the steering wheel at all times. Only remove your hands from the steering wheel if Super Cruise is engaged, it is safe to do so, and it is permitted by state and local laws.
No. Super Cruise does not perform all aspects of driving nor do everything a driver can do. Super Cruise allows the driver to drive hands-free when conditions allow the feature to be available; but, the driver needs to pay close attention to the road and be ready to take the wheel at all times.
No. Super Cruise does not change lanes for you. Super Cruise also does not steer to avoid safety situations, objects, or road impediments. You must always manually steer under these situations. The driver needs to remain attentive and respond appropriately.
Correct. Super Cruise can only be used on limited-access freeways that are separated from opposing traffic and accessible by entrance and exit ramps only.
You need to take control to change lanes, steer around a traffic situation or object, merge into traffic, or exit the freeway. Super Cruise does not detect construction zones. The system does not detect if you are drowsy or focused on safe driving. Always be ready to take action and take over steering or apply the brakes. Some state and local laws may not permit hands-free driving. In these locations, use Super Cruise by lightly holding the steering wheel at all times. Always know the rules in your area.
Super Cruise is standard on 2018 CT6 Platinum Trim and available on Premium Luxury Trim vehicles built after September 6th, 2017 and later.
